Bobcat drop-hammer

Sept. 28, 2010
The 1,950-pound drop-hammer attachment uses a 1,140-pound center weight that is lifted through its 38-inch maximum stroke via a drive-motor-and-chain mechanism, then dropped to deliver an impact energy rating of 3,600 ft.-lb. The hammer, which can deliver 20 blows per minute, is designed to break concrete and asphalt slabs up to 18 inches thick, typically leaving a surface free of jagged, tire-cutting debris, says Bobcat, but heavily fractured beneath.
