Worker Killed in Bridge Construction Accident

A construction worker died  in an accident while working on the rehabilitation of the Bong Bridge in Duluth, Minn.

The Bong Bridge, which carries U.S. Highway 2 across the St. Louis River, is in the second year of a $18.2 million reconstruction project. 

 

 

A construction worker died  in an accident while working on the rehabilitation of the Bong Bridge in Duluth, Minn., reports the Duluth News Tribune.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office said the deceased suffered “multiple blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian-forklift mishap.”

Another worker was injured in the accident. Both workers were employees of Lunda Construction of Black River Falls, Wis., the main contractor working on the two-year rehabilitation project of the span, according to the Duluth News Tribune.

Neither man was operating the forklift involved in the incident.
