The addition of Wirtgen's product lineup makes Deere a major player in the global road construction market.

Deere has completed its acquisition of the Wirtgen Group.

"The Wirtgen Group will enhance the size, scale, and stature of our construction equipment business," said chairman/CEO Sam Allen.

The addition of Wirtgen's product lineup makes Deere a major player in the global road construction market. Wirtgen manufactures milling, processing, mixing, paving, compaction, and rehabilitation equipment.

Deere announced the agreement in June. At the time, the company said it would keep intact the various Wirtgen brands.

Wirtgen sells products in more than 100 countries. Integrating the Deere dealer network with Wirtgen's distribution channel will give the company a larger global footprint.
