West Palm Beach Bans Utility Vehicle Idling

West Palm Beach, Fla., Mayor Jeri Muoio announced a ban on city utility vehicles idling for more than five minutes, according to the Palm Beach Post. The ban will help the city meet its goal of reducing emissions by 19 percent by 2018.

City utility vehicles will have GPS units installed to monitor activity. The units will create reports of idle time, which will be sent to division managers.
