Volvo Construction Equipment has announced the 2012 – 2013 schedule for the Road Institute.
The course curriculum offers two- to five-day sessions that begin in October and continue through May 2013, with classes held at two training facilities in North America—one in Chambersburg, Pa., and the other in Phoenix, Ariz.
Road Institute focuses training efforts on the customer and various occupations within the hot-mix asphalt and warm-mix asphalt paving industry. The Road Institute provides the paving contractor, operator, agency and other industry personnel with the link between equipment technology and job site applications. The curriculum is designed for operators, crews, and industry personnel, including state DOT administrators and asphalt production professionals.
Operator courses and seminars are designed to improve an operator’s skills with both theory and hands-on operation of asphalt paving and compaction equipment. Courses are offered in paver and compactor operation and maintenance, applications, automatic grade and slope control systems, screed operation, and soil compaction application.
Tuition is $750 per student per three- to five-day course or $500 per student per two-day seminar. For more information on the Road Institute or to register for classes, visit www.roadinstitute.com.
