The new Volvo L60F, L70F and L90F wheel loaders are designed to enhance both performance and operator comfort, compared with their E-Series counterparts. The new loaders use the 5.7-liter, six-cylinder Volvo D6E diesel engine, which develops 158, 171 and 175 gross horsepower, respectively, in the three new models. The engines are designed, says Volvo, to deliver high torque at low speeds, thus conserving fuel. Approximate top-end operating weights for the new machines are, respectively, 27,000, 31,000 and 37,500 pounds. Transmissions are fully automatic and select an operating range to suit the application, independent of both machine and engine speed. The new models continue the Volvo “All-Rounder” concept, which allows the machines to quickly change work tools for added flexibility. The new larger, quieter cabs, says Volvo, feature double-filtered ventilation air, enhanced visibility and the optional Comfort Drive Control lever-steering system.
