Video: New Seattle Bridge Will Bend to Earthquakes

Memory metals, flexible concrete and snap-back rebar bring bridge back in line after earthquake

At one end of the tunnel being drilled by Bertha, another technology is on display. The bridge that will take traffic into Seattle is being built with flexible concrete and specially formulated rebar to provide a level of earthquake resistance.
