The Kankakee Police Department released the dashcam video showing the August 24, 2017, incident of Austin White, 18, joyriding a stolen bulldozer around the streets of Kankakee, Illinois.

The dozer, which appears to be a Deere model, was stolen from a secured construction site sometime before 3 a.m. where a Meijers supermarket is being built in nearby Bradley.

Shortly thereafter, an off-duty Kankakee patrol officer spotted the dozer spiraling around the intersection of Schuyler and East Oak Street in downtown Kankakee, about 5 miles from the construction site.

The patrol officer attempted to stop the White, but White backed up over the police cruiser. The officer escaped without injury.

Several more officers responded and gave chase on foot. Eventually, officers were able to catch up to the dozer, jump onboard, and break the cab's window to subdue White with a Taser.

White, of Bourbonnais and currently of the Jerome Combs Detention Center, was taken to St. Mary's Hospital and treated for injuries. Police said White has never had a driver's license and is being held on six felony charges including attempted murder, criminal damage to property, trespassing, aggravated assault, DUI, and theft greater than $500.
