Because horizontal directional drilling is more technical than most underground construction methods, Vermeer says there is a higher demand for new and recurrent training; not only for machine operators, but also for locator operators, crew members, supervisors, job planners and inspectors. To help take the mystery out of HDD, the company has developed "The Fundamentals of Horizontal Directional Drilling," a comprehensive bilingual educational tool in CD format or illustrated book.

The resources include a compilation of many years of experience by people who are dedicated to HDD technology. It covers a wide range of issues from HDD theory to basic drilling packages to rock drilling. Contact a Vermeer dealer for more information.
