UPPCO To Examine Boney Falls Dam

Upper Peninsula Power Company, Ishpeming, MI, a subsidiary of Integrys Energy Group, is drawing down Boney Falls reservoir to resume investigating seepage below the dam.

The reservoir will be lowered to 16 feet below its normal level by about mid-October and will remain at that level for one to four weeks while UPPCO inspects and documents the location of the seepage sources in thereservoir.

Pat Fulsher, superintendent regional generation, says the inspection will provide the information needed to understand the dynamics of the reservoir.
