Update: Congressional Leaders Reach Late-Night Aid Deal for Flint

September 28, 2016

TheHill.com reports this morning Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is supporting a House deal to provide financial aid to Flint, Michigan so the city can continue work on its lead-encrusted water system.

"I've been given the assurance by the Republican leadership that something will happen in the lame duck," Reid said. "I'm comfortable in talking to Pelosi that the House feels comfortable with where they are on Flint."

Yesterday, Senate Democrats joined with roughly a dozen Republicans to block a bill that would fund the government through Dec. 9 over the Flint fight.
