Flannery has over two decades of executive experience in the equipment rental industry, and has served at United Rentals for over 20 years. He began serving as the company’s president in March 2018, and COO since 2012.
Griffith became a director of the company in January 2009, and currently chairs the Strategy Committee.
“The collaboration between our directors and senior management is unique in my experience, and on a personal level, it is gratifying to know that we have achieved our objectives,” chairman Jenne Britell said in a press release. “The transformation of the company has created substantial value for our customers, employees and shareholders.” Britell will also step down effective May 8.
