TWDB Approves Water Infrastructure Projects

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) has approved financial assistance totaling $17,000,800 for eight water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The projects include:

  • Hidalgo County Municipal Utility District: $5,645,000, water system improvements, and $3,520,000, wastewater system improvements. Plans: new 2 million gallons per day (mgd) water treatment plant; new 1 mgd extended aeration wastewater treatment plant.
  • City of Sabinal: $4,250,000, wastewater system improvements to construct a 0.34 mgd wastewater treatment plant, lift station and force main.
  • City of Brownsville: $1,635,800,000, wastewater system improvements to bring first-time sewer service to 21 colonias.
  • City of Eastland: $925,000, wastewater system improvements.
