Trimble Business App Brings Office to the Field

Trimble Contractor mobile app is for small site and utility contractors, and provides them with the ability to manage common office tasks on a smartphone or tablet.

“Smaller contractors don’t have a lot of time to do paperwork, which can lead to delayed or missed revenue opportunities,” said Scott Crozier, segment manager for Trimble Heavy Civil Construction. “Trimble Contractor helps companies minimize paperwork, automate processes and organize their business more efficiently from the field.”

The app allows employees and owners to create, send and track quotes, purchase orders, change orders and invoices directly on their mobile device. Site diaries are created to track daily activities or check site progress against quotes, and are also used as a digital timesheet. By monitoring project progress, issues can be identified and corrected quickly, and timesheets can be verified and documented, Trimble says. Additionally, site instructions can be created and sent to employees so contractors can ensure their crews are focused on the right projects with the right prioritization.

Data from the Trimble Contractor app can be exported as a .CSV file for integration into third-party accounting and payroll systems.

Trimble Contractor is available for Android and iOS mobile devices, and can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
