TransCanada Begins Southern Leg of Keystone Pipeline

Construction of the southern portion of TransCanada's Keystone XL pipeline is in progress in Texas, even as opponents get ready to protest the controversial project.

"TransCanada is now poised to put approximately 4,000 Americans to work constructing the $2.3-billion pipeline that will be built in three distinct ‘spreads,’ or sections," said Russ Girling, TransCanada's president and CEO, in the Los Angeles Times.
