A deputy working as overnight security on a construction site was hit by a wheel loader and killed, according to local news reports in Florida. The operator of the loader kept going, eventually stopping the machine and escaping on foot. He was apprehended the next morning. He has been released on $500,000 bond.
The incident occurred near Interstate 295 in St. Petersburgh, Florida.
