The new tool is ideal, says the manufacturer, for use in cohesive and mixed soils, providing compaction forces up to 3,000 pounds and percussion rates up to 750 bpm. Using a narrow tamping shoe, the R420 fits into tight spaces, and its light weight makes it easy to maneuver and transport. Estimated price: $3,150.
