Volvo Volvo has extended its excavator line to include the 70-ton EC700, which uses 80-ton components in its undercarriage. Tandem hydraulic pumps are connected directly to the engine to avoid power losses, the company says. The machine is powered by Volvo's Tier 3 D16E EAE3 that delivers 424 horsepower at 1,800 rpm. Maximum dig reach is 42 feet 4 inches. Estimated list price: $700,000 (base machine and bucket).
