Forty percent of respondents to a survey by the National Association for Business Economics say their company plans to hire workers in the next six months, in contrast to 9 percent who say their company expects layoffs.

Forty percent of respondents to a survey by the National Association for Business Economics say their company plans to hire workers in the next six months, in contrast to 9 percent who say their company expects layoffs.

Ken Simonson, chief economist for AGC, calls the forecast, detailed in a Voice of America post, "the best reading in two years, one of the best in the 30-year history of the survey."
