Stainless Bumpers

Sept. 28, 2010

Solid stainless-steel replacement bumpers are more robust than chrome-plated steel, stronger than aluminum, and eliminate use of toxic materials employed in chrome plating, says American Durabilt in New Jersey. Bumpers are cut and shaped from 11-gauge stainless-steel stock, then sheet-polished to a mirror finish. Some models come with mounting brackets, and fasteners can be requested. Bumpers are sold in stock sizes for most Kenworths, Peterbilts and Freightliners, and the maker will custom-build bumpers for other trucks.
