Madison Square Garden has selected international construction leader, Skanska, as construction manager for the arena’s renovation project, which is slated to begin construction in spring 2009. Skanska will be responsible for pre-construction and construction management services throughout the project in conjunction with the project manager, Jones Lang LaSalle.

Skanska will have a dedicated on-site management team at Madison Square Garden throughout the duration of the renovation project. This team will work closely with Madison Square Garden’s architects, facilities group, project manager, public agencies in New York City, and subcontractors to ensure that Madison Square Garden meets its timeline for completion of the renovation project – in time for the 2011-2012 seasons – while minimizing the construction’s impact on current customers. The Knicks and Rangers seasons will not be interrupted.
