Skanska CEO Sees Healthcare as Big Construction Driver

April 2, 2015

According to Skanska USA’s new President and CEO Rich Cavallaro, the healthcare market is experiencing rapid growth.

“Hospitals are incorporating the ‘patient experience’ into the design of new hospital facilities,” Cavallaro told National Real Estate Investor (NREI).

Cavallaro also added that K-12 education facilities are growing because “municipalities have found ways to locally fund the construction.”

According to Cavallaro, the demand for public-private partnerships (P3s) for infrastructure is stimulating U.S. construction growth.

“We see this trend continuing for many years,” Cavallaro adds. “We also see an opportunity for P3s to drive social infrastructure projects, such as schools and hospitals, which are both in high demand.”
