Sany America announced that is has registered its first profitable quarter in the first three months of 2013 and predicted that continued strong sales of cranes and excavators should bring full-year profitability in 2013.
During 2012, crane sales were up 84 percent. In just the first two months of 2013, Sany says excavator orders eclipsed total 2012 sales by more than 50 percent.
Sany's Earthmoving Group established an excavator assembly line at its Peachtree City, Ga. plant in 2012. By the end of 2013, its excavator dealer network will have tripled in size. Sany chairman Tim Frank said Sany is still a new business in North America, but its development is right on target. “Our focus will continue to be on product innovation, expansion of our distribution network and expanding our product lines based on customers’ needs,” he said. “We’ll also continue to examine other avenues for growth, including acquisitions and joint ventures.”
