Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx outlined a 30-year plan designed to address the nation’s aging infrastructure, according to the Washington Post.

Foxx described a Transportation Department report, expected later this year, that will examine the nation’s infrastructure as a “system of systems.” Particularly, it will focus on the infrastructure expansion needed because of population growth in the South and West, as well as infrastructure repair and replacement in the Northeast and Midwest.

According to the Post, Foxx believes that while acquiring funding is important, how to best allocate the funds requires more analysis.
