Caterpillar announces a new marketing agreement with Redbird, a pioneer in the acquisition and analysis of aerial data collected by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) or drones. "This agreement will help create value for our customers," said John Carpenter, Construction Technology and Solutions manager. "UAV data collection and Redbird's image analytics capability will provide contractors with a variety of solutions for their operations, such as material inventory management, haul road optimization and project progress to name a few."
Redbird, established in 2013 with offices in San Francisco and Paris, can both collect drone data and provide analysis of that data using cloud-based, proprietary algorithms offers significant benefits for customers. This digital analytic data can help contractors become more productive, make better business decisions and optimize their operations.

The Caterpillar and Redbird agreement will operate in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
