Fife, WA— Premier Building Systems, a manufacturer of Structural Insulated Panels, announced it has reduced its production waste by more than 30 percent in its manufacturing facilities in Fife, WA, and Phoenix, AZ. By implementing more efficient procedures and reusing materials when appropriate, PBS has been able to maintain production without the waste.

"Through more efficient production operations, we are reusing lumber and wood scraps that would have normally gone to the landfill," said Doug Cassidy, PBS operations manager. "We are also able to recycle about 90 percent of the EPS foam insulation that is a part of our structural insulated panels. We gather unused portions and have it reground for use in new foam products."
