Post-Sandy Reconstruction Funding Bill Heads to Senate

January 25, 2013

The House recently passed a $50.5 billion funding package for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts on the East Coast, according to the Engineering News-Record.

Passed on by the House on Jan. 15, 2013, the package would provide $10.9 billion for the Federal Transit Administration and $5.3 billion for Army Corps of Engineers projects.

The bill will now be put to a Senate vote, where it must be accepted in its entirety to pass. If the package is amended, the revised version will either be sent back to the House or will go before a House-Senate committee to resolve the differences between the two bills.
