Portland Cement Gets Training Grant from NRC

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) awarded the Portland Cement Association (PCA) a contract worth $105,335.00 for educational services. Based in Skokie, IL, the Portland Cement Association represents cement companies in the United States and Canada. It conducts market development, engineering, research, education, and public affairs programs.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) awarded the Portland Cement Association (PCA) a contract worth $105,335.00 for educational services. Based in Skokie, IL, the Portland Cement Association represents cement companies in the United States and Canada. It conducts market development, engineering, research, education, and public affairs programs.

According to the contract terms, PCA will provide and instruct the "Concrete Technology and Codes" training course to NRC staff. The course supplies technical information and hands-on experience in the area of concrete technology.

It will enhance the NRC inspector’s ability to conduct in-depth inspections and design reviews of NRC-licensed facilities to determine whether or not applicable codes and standards are met.

The contract is renewable for an additional three years.
