Perkins 854E Diesel Engine

April 26, 2012

The 854E-E34TA diesel engine from Perkins offers ratings from 84.5 horsepower up to 115 horsepower.

It joins the existing line up of four- and six-cylinder engines in the 1200 Series range that meet the current Tier 4-Interim emissions regulations. Perkins’ technology solution for meeting the emissions limits applicable to the 75- to 175-horsepower power band utilizes a combination of technologies, including a NOx Reduction System (NRS), and a Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The company says its testing has revealed that the NRS/DPF pairing produces better fuel economy in customer applications compared to other technology solutions.

The 854E uses passive regeneration technology that is transparent to the operator and eliminates high engine bay heat, according to Perkins.
