A 35-year-old worker seriously injured his leg when a Link-Belt truck crane overturned at a New York shipyard last Saturday.

FDNY Deputy Chief Phil Solimeo told SILive the load of the crane shifted, and the operator was injured when the machine overturned. Crews removed oil from the crane before turning it upright.

The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital with serious injuries. It is speculated that the worker suffered a broken leg.

"His leg snapped in half," a source told SILive.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
