June 25, 2015

OSHA opened an investigation into the death of a construction worker who died when a piece of rebar fell 130 feet and struck him on top of his head, police officials reported.

Michael Snider, 41, was wearing a hard hat, which was split into pieces when the rebar hit his head, reports Lincoln Journal Star.

Crews were pouring concrete in a foundation hole in downtown Lincoln, Mo., using a tower crane when the piece of rebar came loose from the crane and fell.
