OSHA to Hold Construction Safety Advisory Committee Meeting

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (ACCSH) Dec. 5 and 6, 2013 in Washington, D.C.

Jordan Barab, deputy assistant secretary of labor for occupational safety and health, will deliver remarks. The agenda also includes updates from the Directorates of Construction and Standards and Guidance, a presentation on the draft proposed standard on occupational exposure to beryllium and a discussion on the OSHA 10- and 30-hour training courses.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. EST, Dec. 5 and 6 at the, U.S. Department of Labor building in Washington, D.C. Some committee members will participate by teleconference. Comments and requests to speak may be submitted electronically at the Federal e-Rulemaking Portal, or by mail or facsimile. Comments and requests to speak must be submitted by Nov. 15, 2013.

OSHA is also accepting nominations for six new members to serve on the committee. Nominations will be accepted from those interested in representing employee (2), employer (2), public (1) and state safety and health agency (1) groups. Nominations may also be submitted at the Federal eRulemaking Portal or by mail or facsimile. The deadline for submissions is Jan. 7, 2014.
