Nicor Begins Nine-Year Pipe Replacement Project

Nicor Gas will launch a $2 billion program to replace 1,000 miles of gas main in its Chicago suburban service area over a period of nine years, according to Crain’s Chicago Business.

This year, the company expects to replace 125 miles of pipe at a cost of $300 million. The project is expected to create approximately 500 jobs this year, with more to come.
