An agreement to build a $2.1 billion international bridge spanning the Detroit River to link Detroit with Canada has been signed by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

The New International Trade Crossing will create an estimated 13,000 construction jobs, according to a study released by the Center for Automotive Research, and should lead to more trade between the U.S. and Canada, Crain's Detroit Business says.
