The Brennan Investment Group has presented plans to Elk Grove Village, Illinois, to build a dedicated technology park on 85 acres of farmland just 15 minutes from O'Hare Airport.
The Daily Herald reports the privately held property could be sold later this year and construction could start by spring 2018.
Michael Brennan, chairman of Brennan Investment Group, said the park is intended to fill the demand for the growing automated manufacturing industry. The group and village officials have been working out the details for the new project for two years.
Construction of the first phase would include four buildings with a combined 500,000 square feet of space, and two sites for commercial development such as retail or hospitality. The park would also feature wide pedestrian paths, ponds, water fountains and artwork throughout.
