NAWIC Greater Birmingham Chapter Recognized by Two Mayors During "Women in Construction Week"

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Greater Birmingham Chapter was recognized during the "Women in Construction Week" March 1–7, 2009, by proclamation signings by two local mayors.

Mayor Scott McBrayer of Homewood and Mayor Larry Langford of Birmingham each signed proclamations acknowledging the contributions of the local chapter's community development and educational programs geared towards the advancement of women in skilled-trade careers.

Governor Bob Riley also signed a proclamation on March 27 in Montgomery.

NAWIC, an international nonprofit organization, has grown to a membership of more than 5,000 women and has more than 179 chapters.
