Announced at AEMP's annual conference, the alliance joins Navman's telematics products with OEM's fuel delivery systems, says Renaat Ver Eecke, vice president and general manager for Navman.
Telematics will provide machine hours and location, and the fuel delivery system will provide fuel usage. Data will be aggregated to provide fuel burn, or gallons per hour, Ver Eecke says.
The system can be applied to any brand machine, and will require a telematics box on each unit and the installation of a fuel-delivery system at each fueling point.
“Especially with fuel costs continuing to skyrocket, fleet managers need a solution to address the challenge of utilizing different systems for each OEM’s equipment,” Ver Eecke says. “Combining our telematics delivery system with OEM Data Delivery’s fuel tracking, we feel we’re providing the best of both offerings to the industry.”
