Navistar COO Troy Clarke told the Dow Jones News Service that engine-manufacturing capacity may need to be pared back. The decision affecting any of three plants has yet to be made, but it would probably take several months, he told the newspaper.

The company has two plants in Huntsville, Ala., and one in Melrose Park, Ill.
