More Fuel Efficient than Predecessor

Sept. 28, 2010

With an operating weight of 103,000 pounds, Komatsu's PC400LC-7 hydraulic excavator has an optional variable-gauge track, increasing lateral stability and lifting capacity. Compared to its predecessor model, the new machine offers a 10 percent increase in lift capacity, an 8 percent increase in productivity, and a 20 percent increase in fuel efficiency. Komatsu says the machine is the only one in its size class to feature the Equipment Management Monitoring System. The 330-hp excavator uses a Tier-2-compliant engine and has four working modes. Estimated list price: $445,440.
