Michigan Transit Project Advances

The Southeast Michigan Council of Governments voted to advance the Interstate 94 and Interstate 75 widening project in Detroit and its suburbs, according to MLive.com. The proposed project will add a traffic lane to the interstates, and will also include interchange improvements and overpass replacements.

The Dec. 6 vote allows the team to move forward with the $2.3 billion project by hiring a project manager. Construction would begin no earlier than 2016 and would be complete by 2030 or later, the report says.
