Massive Frames for Minimal-Deflection Paving

According to Terex Roadbuilding, the new Terex CMI SF3500B Series slipform concrete pavers are built with massive, 26-inch frame tubes that keep deflection to a minimum across the paving-width range (12 to 33 feet). The result, says the company, is an enhanced capability for producing riding surfaces meeting Profile Index (PI) and International Roughness Index (IRI) standards.

The result, says the company, is an enhanced capability for producing riding surfaces meeting Profile Index (PI) and International Roughness Index (IRI) standards. The new Series also employs the company's Hydramation grade-control system, and uses a vibratory manifold that mounts directly to the paving kit, reducing required hose plumbing by half. Estimated list prices are in the range of $500,000, depending on track and paving width configuration.
