As part of his "Grow Wisconsin" initiative to invest in Wisconsin's infrastructure and stimulate our state's economy, Governor Jim Doyle recently signed an $896,000 contract to improve the Tomahawk River Bridge on Willow Dam Road in Oneida County. Construction is currently scheduled to begin spring 2007.

Lunda Construction Company of Black River Falls is the prime contractor for the project. Construction includes replacing the existing bridge with a new, wider structure that meets current design standards. During construction, Willow Dam Road will be closed to through traffic and detoured via local roads.

Seventy-five percent of the project will be paid with a combination of state and federal transportation funds; the remaining 25 percent will be paid with local transportation funds.
