New from Leica-Geosystems are the Piper 100 and Piper 200 pipe lasers which, according to the company, are designed to "easily set up in small inverts, and are the only pipe lasers available that fit inside a 4-inch pipe." The Piper laser, says Leica, is aimed at contractors who install storm and sanitary sewer lines, as well as any gravity-flow piping. The instruments incorporate an automatic grade-compensation feature that identifies and corrects grade errors. The Piper automatically self-levels over a full grade range and eliminates the need to tip the laser for steep slopes.
