Leica GradeStar 3D motorgrader machine

Sept. 28, 2010

The GradeStar 3D motorgrader machine-control system uses inputs from either GPS or TPS sensors to control blade position to match a computerized digital-terrain model. The system allows operators to complete grading jobs without staking out hubs and stringlines, thus providing faster grade completion with exact design specifications. The blade's cutting and spreading angle is fully adjustable, and automatic control of the blade's side shift enables the machine to grade the edge of a road without another alignment reference. Operators can select among several different sensors and easily switch from one to the other.
