The final segment of the first of two steel arches of the Margaret McDermott Bridge was raised into place alongside the eastbound lanes of I-30, reports NBCDFW.
The process took several hours position the piece into place. Each arch is comprised of 78 segments, some of which are 60-feet-long, according to NBCDFW.
The project costs $113 million and is part of the Dallas Horseshoe Project, a large-scale upgrade of I-30 and I-35E near downtown Dallas. When competed, the arches will stand 328 feet tall and stretch 1,311 feet.
