Las Vegas Paving Notes Stimulus Not Enough

November 11, 2010

Las Vegas Paving, the largest road construction firm in Nevada, says that while they are grateful for the jobs they have received, there is simply not enough to go around. $208 million was released to the state to fund construction projects, which did not match the earlier figures that were floating around in the early days of the stimulus package.

Despite the fact that the stimulus plan was developed to help save jobs and keep people working, the unemployment rate in Nevada has still managed to top 14%. This is a staggering figure when you consider that a total of $2.5 billion in stimulus dollars has been delivered to Nevada for various state projects.
