Lanford Named To TRIP Board

Kenneth L. Lanford, president, Lanford Brothers Company, Inc., of Roanoke, Va., was elected to the board of directors of TRIP, a national, nonprofit transportation research group based in Washington, D.C.

Formed in 1960 by brothers Jack and Stan Lanford, Lanford Brothers has grown to a 200-employee specialty contractor concentrating on bridge repairs, asphalt and concrete milling, guardrail, highway signs, and latex overlays.

Mr. Lanford joined Lanford Brothers in 1985, holding the positions of field superintendent, project manager and vice president, leading to his appointment in 2004 as president of the company. Lanford is a member of the board of directors of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association and the Virginia Museum of Transportation.

Locally, in addition to serving as an executive board member of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce, Lanford chairs its Transportation Advocacy Committee, and sits on the board of The River Foundation, which governs Virginia's Explore Park, an 1,100-acre living history park located on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Roanoke.
