L.A. Needs $15 Billion for Infrastructure

According to a city official, Los Angeles needs as much as $15 billion in public works improvements, Bloomberg reports. The city’s aging infrastructure was recently in the spotlight after a July 29 pipe burst drained 20 million gallons of water from the city.

Funding the improvements is a challenge, the report says, as voters are unlikely to support an increase in sales tax or water rates.
