KOBELCO celebrated the production of its 1,000th SK210LC-10 excavator at its U.S. facility on March 27. KOBELCO dealer Southeastern Equipment sold the unit to A Crano Excavating, a family-owned residential and commercial developer. KOBELCO presented the machine to A Crano at the celebration event.
Fourteen models are currently being produced at the facility, including standard KOBELCO excavators in the 17- to 50-ton range. Manufacturing capacity will continue to increase in accordance with market development, according to a press release. The company also plans on expanding its manufacturing team as production capacity increases.
“Expanding our team of experts is the first step in continuing to aggressively increase overall production,” Ralph Wabnitz, GM, said in the press release. “Our USA production workforce increased over 60 percent in 2018 alone. This year, we plan to add over 10 percent more employees in all operational areas.”
