The Nevada Board of Transportation has awarded Kiewit Construction the $559 million contract to widen and improve a section of Interstate 15 in Las Vegas called the “Spaghetti Bowl,” reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Project Neon affects the interchange between I-15 and I-515, and is scheduled to be completed by the fall of 2019. Keiwit built the original Spaghetti Bowl in 1968, according to the report.
Kiewit officials say they plan to hire about 300 local workers and buy materials and supplies from local businesses. The report lists local subcontractors already engaged as Wells Cargo Construction, Aggregate Industries, and Atkins North America.
